    The virtual GNYDA Dietetic Internship fair, organized by the GNYDA student committee, provides a chance for students to hear from dietetic internship directors from the tri-state area and beyond.

    This year, the DI fair will be held on Sunday, November 14th from 1:00-5:00 pm, virtually via WebEx.

    Directors will be giving presentations about their programs, and there will be a chance to ask questions after each presentation. In addition to the DI presentations, Joan Salge Blake EdD, RDN, LDN, FAND, Clinical Associate Professor of Nutrition at Boston University will be giving an informative presentation about the DICAS application process.


    • 1:15 pm: Admission process begins.
    • 1:30 pm: Open address from GNYDA President and Student Committee Co-Chairs.
    • 1:45 pm: Keynote speaker, Joan Salge Blake EdD, RD, LDN, FAND, will provide insight regarding the application and DICAS process.
    • 2:30 pm - 3:35 pm: Each dietetic internship program will feature a 4 minute presentation to provide key information about their program. If you have any questions regarding one of the programs, there will be a Q&A session with a representative of each program. Additionally, the contact information for all program directors will be provided on a slide during the break following the presentation session.
    • 3:35 pm - 3:40pm: Break.
    • 3:40-4:00pm: Gain access to your Dietetic Internship Toolkit! Jenny Westerkamp RD, CSSD, founder of All Access Dietetics (formerly known as All Access Internships) will have a 20 minute presentation on 3 common mistakes applicants make. All registrants will also receive a link to get their hands on a FREE All Access Dietetics Dietetic Internship Toolkit!
    • 4:00pm: Current dietetic interns will be answering as many questions as they can about their programs during the Q & A session.

    Topic: Nutrition Considerations of Gender Affirming Therapies in the Transgender Community

    Learning Objectives:

    • Explain barriers to optimal nutrition for the transgender community
    • Describe clinical nutrition-related side effects of estrogen and testosterone therapy
    • Identify potential psychosocial concerns for transgender patients and clients


    Zachari Breeding, MS, RDN, CSO, LDN, FAND is a registered, licensed dietitian and holds his Certification of Specialty in Oncology Nutrition (CSO). He is the owner of Sage Nutritious Solutions, a personalized nutrition and private chef company and is the Food Systems Dietitian at the VA Medical Center. He is the recent recipient of the Emerging Leader in Dietetics award from the Pennsylvania Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Zach is also the incoming Speaker for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics House of Delegates and Past Chair of the Committee for Lifelong Learning, which plans the Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo (FNCE). He is also the founder and president of the Mandy Wagner Foundation, and 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the mission to improve the lives of those living with cystic fibrosis.
