The 18th Annual Health and Wellness Conference is focused towards Registered Dietitians, as well as dietetic students and interns, to obtain continuing education credits and stay up-to-date with the most recent topics/research in the nutrition field. We will have 3 speakers this year presenting on the following topics: Starting a Virtual Practice, Food Allergies and Implementing Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size Paradigms in the Non-clinical Setting.

  • 9:15 am: Registration & Breakfast
  • 9:45 am: GNYDA Welcome Address
  • 10:00 am: "Starting A Virtual Practice: Real Talk with a Virtual RD."
    Stephanie Mendez, MS, RD, CDN; Stefanie Mendez Nutrition LLC

    Telehealth is am emerging area of practice for Registered Dietitians and health care professionals. In this session we will learn about telehealth and license laws, business must-haves when providing telehealth, ways to market virtual services and how to generate income with telehealth.

  • 11:00 am: "Food Allergies Exposed"
    Kristin Cardillo, RDN, CDN; The Center for Allergy, Asthma & Immunology

    The Registered Dietitian’s role is pivotal for patients with food allergies. This session will focus on methods to diagnose a food allergy, will review modern day treatments and will help Registered Dietitians understand the indications for a patient avoiding a true food allergy.

  • 12:15 pm: Lunch and Networking

  • 1:30 pm: "Using Intuitive Eating & Health at Every Size When You Don't Work in Private Practice"
    Rachel Larkey, RD, CDN, CLC

    Intuitive Eating is a mind-body, self-care eating framework often used in private practice. But how can we translate these principals into other areas of nutrition care? In this session, Rachel will review the principles of Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size, how these principles can be applied in non-private practice settings & potential barriers Registered Dietitians might face in implementing them.

  • 2:30-3:15 pm: Closing Remarks, Evaluations and Networking

4 CPEU's have been approved

Registration fee includes light breakfast and catered lunch. 

GNYDA reserves the right to return registration once capacity has been reached. Registration online will close Sunday, March 8th at 11:59 pm. On-site registration the day of conference (add $20) will be available, space permitting. A portion of the registration fee will be donated to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation.

Written cancellation requests post-marked by March 6, 2020 will be honored in full less a $10.00 processing fee. No refunds after 3/6/20.
