The 18th Annual Health & Wellness Conference will be taking place this year as a LIVE, VIRTUAL CONFERENCE. Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding as we transitioned the conference to a webinar platform given the recent health concern with Coronoavirus. We have 3 fantastic speakers lined up and presenting on the following topics: Starting a Virtual Practice, Food Allergies and Implementing Intuitive Eating & Health at Every Size principles in the Non-Clinical Setting. See below for more details and how you can grab your "virtual seat."

Conference Program and Overview:

  • 9:35am: "Starting A Virtual Practice: Real Talk with a Virtual RD."
Stefanie Mendez, MS, RD, CDN; Stefanie Mendez Nutrition LLC

Telehealth is am emerging area of practice for Registered Dietitians and health care professionals. In this session we will learn about telehealth and license laws, business must-haves when providing telehealth, ways to market virtual services and how to generate income with telehealth.

  • 10:45 am: "Food Allergies Exposed"
Kristin Cardillo, RDN, CDN; The Center for Allergy, Asthma & Immunology

The Registered Dietitian’s role is pivotal for patients with food allergies. This session will focus on methods to diagnose a food allergy, will review modern day treatments and will help Registered Dietitians understand the indications for a patient avoiding a true food allergy.

  • 12:15 pm: "Using Intuitive Eating & Health at Every Size When You Don't Work in Private Practice"

Intuitive Eating is a mind-body, self-care eating framework often used in private practice. But how can we translate these principals into other areas of nutrition care? In this session, Rachel will review the principles of Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size, how these principles can be applied in non-private practice settings & potential barriers Registered Dietitians might face in implementing them.
