Alexandra Rosenstock, RD, CDN and Lauren Kelly MS, RD, CDN; Registered Dietitians, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital
Within our gut is an intestinal mucosal barrier (IMB) that allows for the transfer of nutrients and waste, creating a separation between the microbiota and food from the innate and adaptive immune system. Conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) have been linked to a disrupted IMB and dysbiosis.  Alexandra and Lauren will define intestinal permeability, explain the microbiome and dysbiosis, describe the link between intestinal permeability and inflammatory bowel disease and discuss medical nutrition therapy and supplementation for intestinal permeability.

Leslie Bonci, MPH, RDN, CSSD; Sports Dietitian, Kansas City Chiefs
The role of the sports dietitian is to help the athlete safeguard health and optimize performance.  Leslie will discuss the role of the sports dietitian, what athletes find enticing, what the science says, unintended consequences of diet manipulation, ketogenic, gluten free and dairy free diets, protein and carbohydrate guidelines and the latest on supplements.
